For whatever reason, today has been designated by the secret controllers of the Internet as RSS Awareness Day. As an everyday user of RSS feeds, I felt I should join in.
RSS is a simple method of compiling syndicated content in one place. Basically, this allows you to view all your content quickly in one place. These can be used to get the latest blog posts from a site, or news updates, or web-comics. Anytime there’s an update, you can just check your reader and see it.
I’ve tried a few stand-alone applications and online programs, and I prefer Google Reader. It’s easy to use, well-designed and has some nice features.
If you commonly read blogs, news, comics, or any sites that has syndicated content, give RSS a shot. It should save you a lot of time.
