Nintendo’s Giant Middle Finger

I just now turned off a game based on offensiveness for the first time. The game was Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and the reason is Nintendo’s giant middle finger to its fanbase with the random tripping.

In case you don’t know, in Brawl matches, you will occasionally for no reason trip. It won’t be from an item or overloading your moves or anything like that. You moved, and therefore, you tripped. This is unequivocably the stupidest damned feature ever to be included in a game, and I don’t think it will ever be topped.

So, quite simply, screw you Sakurai and friends. This “feature” is genuinely insulting.

  1. While I’d heard of the tripping, I’ve never actually experienced it. Then again, I can’t really even see it as tripping in that video. I guess I’m just not good enough that it would really make that big of a difference anyway.
